Voron V0.1

The Voron V0.1 is here!

"I swear I don't only print little boats"

The build -

After over 100 hours of printing parts for the build and 30 hours of assembly, the Voron V0.1 is alive (somehow still in one piece).

What is Voron?

The Voron Project is an open-source initiative focused on the design and development of high-performance, high-reliability 3D printers. Maks Zolin started Voron in 2015 with the goal to design no compromise printers. Voron now has multiple designs, including the small V0.1, the large V2.4 and others. Why did I build one?

You can't buy a Voron off the shelf - you must source and 3d print parts and assemble it yourself. While seeming daunting (rightfully so), this route comes with its own benefits.

I built my V0.1 because I need a small, fast and high quality printer that I could also modify and customize. Also, I can now say I built a 3D printer with a 3D printer.

Some mods I've done

-SideSwipe Klicky Probe

The SideSwipe Klicky Probe is a microswitch based probe used to more accurately level the printing surface. It is deployed with a servo and attaches with magnets - very satisfying to watch. The switch collects height data from different points on the build plate and creates a 3d visualization; a Bed Mesh.

-Nozzle Brush Cleaner

A very simple servo and brush pop up to remove any oozing plastic from the nozzle before a print. This helps prevent first layer failures.

Other Mods

The list goes on with mods that I have already done and ones that I am planning. Here are some that made the list:

(There are also some smaller quality of life mods such as handles and panel mounts)
